TD Reading Club initiative
What I wanted to tackle?
When I was a child, I always loved reading books, as I felt it was the perfect way to escape from my homework. Although books became my happy place, I felt a huge lack in characters that had diversity, whether in race or in having a disability. As with many children who are born or raised in a BIPOC family, I wanted to introduce and support learning about different cultures and their history in a way that is fun and inviting!
I hope with this piece that I got to introduce new and upcoming BIPOC authors to the public as well as have at least one person feel represented!
